Paper Title: The Role of Capsid in the Early Steps of HIV‐1 Infection: New Insights into the Core of the Matter
In collaboration with The Division of Infection and Immunity @UCL, Alwin worked with Professor Fassati and his PhD student, Nawal in producing a review paper that outlines the role of the capsid protein in HIV-1 replication and maturation. He has explored further in this paper, several HIV-1 inhibitor compounds that bind to the small pockets within the subunit of this capsid protein, disrupting its interaction with human cells as a mechanism for inhibition.
